At International Delhi Public School (IDPS), Ambur, we believe that discipline is the foundation for creating a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Our discipline policy aims to promote positive behavior, respect for self and others, and accountability among students.

Code of Conduct
1. Respect for All:
* Students are expected to be courteous, respectful, and considerate towards all members of the school community.
* Discrimination, bullying, harassment, or physical/verbal abuse of any kind is strictly prohibited.
2. Punctuality and Attendance:
* Students must attend school regularly and be on time for all classes and school activities.
* Absences must be communicated by parents with a valid reason. Any absence without permission will be considered unauthorized.
3. Classroom Behavior:
* Students must follow the classroom rules and directions given by the teacher.
* Disruptive behavior, including excessive talking, defiance, or non-compliance with instructions, will not be tolerated.
4. Uniform and Appearance:
* Students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform and maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
* Non-compliance with uniform rules may result in disciplinary action.
5. Respect for Property:
* Students should treat school property and the belongings of others with care.
* Any damage to school property, whether intentional or accidental, must be reported immediately.
6. Digital Conduct:
* Students must use school technology responsibly and adhere to internet safety rules.
* Cyberbullying, inappropriate use of social media, or misuse of technology will result in disciplinary measures.
In cases of minor infractions, teachers may handle the matter directly with the student, which could include a warning or counseling.
For repeated or major infractions, the following actions may be taken based on the severity of the misconduct:
1. Counseling Sessions:
*Students may be referred to the school counselor to discuss the behavior and work on strategies for improvement.
2. Parent-Teacher Meeting:
* A meeting with parents will be arranged to discuss the student’s behavior and collaborate on a corrective plan.
3. Warning and Written Apology:
* Students may receive a formal warning or be required to write an apology to acknowledge their actions and express a commitment to positive behavior.
4. Suspension:
* For severe violations, a suspension of one or more days may be implemented, during which the student will not be allowed on campus.
5. Expulsion:
In extreme cases, where the safety and well-being of others are at risk, the school may recommend expulsion, subject to CBSE guidelines.
Prohibited Behavior
The following behavior is strictly prohibited and may lead to immediate disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion:
1. Bullying, including cyberbullying
2. Physical or verbal aggression
3. Vandalism or theft
4. Use or possession of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco
5. Cheating or academic dishonesty
Supportive Measures
* Counseling: Available for students to help manage behavioral or emotional issues.
* Mentorship Programs: Designed to foster positive behavior through guidance and support.
* Workshops and Assemblies: Regular workshops and assemblies will focus on values, empathy, and responsible decision-making.
